First Ever Archaeological Dig in Chinatown Under Way

The first-ever archaeological dig of Chinatown has so far unearthed pieces of porcelain, pottery, and brick, among other things.

Chinatown is on land made from a former tidal flat during the second quarter of the 19th century. (Beach Street in Chinatown, for instance, though far from the water now, runs along what used to be a beach.)
