Feds: Rhode Island Governor’s Name Can’t Go On Road Project Signs

Federal transportation officials found that the branded RhodeWorks signs violate federal regulations, and since the federal government is providing most of the money for the projects, their word will stick. State officials say Governor Gina Raymond's name will be kept off new signs, something one resident has been crusading for, calling the existing ones "nothing more than subliminal campaign signs by Gina Raimondo."

Only 10 years, says the New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation's Commemorative Memorial Bench Program — which angers a woman who paid $200 for one in honor of her late parents at a state beach in Rye, New Hampshire. The state didn't notify her when it yanked the bench, and now wants $1,000 to put a new one there.
