Family-friendly Massachusetts museum should be summer priority

Old Sturbridge Village, a "living history" museum in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, has helped create family memories for generations. It is one of New England's finest family destinations with something to offer for everybody, from farm animal exhibits and dying wool to historical games and musket demonstrations – even free rein for the active toddler.

If you haven't been to Old Sturbridge Village in many years or ever – this summer is the time to visit. Celebrating its 70th anniversary, Old Sturbridge Village is hosting a special exhibit about its origins. The Fourth of July celebration, its biggest event, will include hundreds of visitors coming to picnic for a sense of true red, white and blue history, cannons and all.
