Faith-based groups rush to aid quake-stricken Ecuador

QUITO, Ecuador (RNS) – Emergency teams from U.S. faith-based humanitarian relief agencies are on the ground in northwest Ecuador to help survivors of a 7.8 magnitude earthquake that shattered buildings and took the lives of at least 413 people.
The Saturday quake destroyed more than 300 buildings, buckled overpasses and trapped residents, workers and motorists.
