Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren Want Joe Biden To Pardon Marijuana Users

U.S. Senator Ed Markey (D-Malden), U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Cambridge), and U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley (D-Oregon) have a message for President Joe Biden:  pardon people with nonviolent marijuana convictions on their criminal record.

"After over a century of failed and racist cannabis policies, we write to urge a change of course:  we request that you use your executive authority to pardon all individuals convicted of non-violent cannabis offenses, whether formerly or currently incarcerated," Warren wrote in a letter co-signed by Markey and Merkley, according to The Hill.

The state of Maine will send more than half a million people a Disaster Relief Payment before the end of the year.

Governor Janet Mills, a Democrat, announced on Wednesday that 524,754 people will receive a $285 payment.
