A pro-life conservative who used to work as a lawyer for what is now Alliance Defending Freedom is now the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Mike Johnson, 51, a Republican congressman from Louisiana, won more than the 217 votes needed to become speaker a little before 2 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday, October 25.
