Former President Donald Trump could dominate the 2024 Massachusetts Republican presidential primary, according to a poll released by UMass Amherst last week.
The poll found that Trump has 59 percent support in the primary. His two closest competitors are two people who have not announced runs for president yet: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (18 percent) and former vice president Mike Pence (10 percent).
Massachusetts is known for many things nationally.
It has great professional sports teams. It is where the Pilgrims settled. It is where the Revolutionary War began. It produces many failed presidential candidates. And it is home to many colleges and universities, most famously Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
