Dominican Man Once Deported After Serving Time In Prison On Drug Charges Pleads Guilty To Returning To United States and Distributing Drugs Again

A Dominican Republic national pleaded guilty in federal court in Boston on Friday to distributing fentanyl after re-entering the United States after previously being deported, federal prosecutors said.

Juan Carlos Santos-Ocasio, also known as "Cristhian Aybar-Done," 40, was arrested in November 2022 and later indicted on one count of distribution and possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and one count of unlawful re-entry of a deported alien.

Several dozen protesters demonstrated outside the Massachusetts Family Institute's annual fund-raising dinner Friday night, briefly blocking access to the Newton Marriott hotel in Auburndale.

Protesters chanted "Hey-hey, ho-ho, transphobia has got-ta go" and "We're here, we're queer, we're fabulous, don't f—- with us."
