Connecticut School Apologizes After Trying To Change Mother’s Day and Father’s Day To ‘Important Grownups Day’

A Connecticut school has apologized to parents after initially announcing a decision to replace Mother's Day and Father's Day with "Important Grownups Day."

Glenville School, an elementary school in the Greenwich Public School system, drew criticism earlier this week after school officials sent a message to second-grade parents about the switch.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, dozens of states have given a boost to struggling restaurants by allowing them to sell cocktails to-go, through takeout, curbside pickup, or home delivery. But the expansion of alcohol to-go laws has placed a heavy burden on understaffed alcohol enforcement agencies, which have been hard-pressed to prevent underage drinking.
