Coffins and Empty Shoes Shock Haverhill Residents Who Don’t See Why Kids Can’t Go Back To School

Teachers union officials who don't want to go back to school in September put coffins and empty shoes on the steps of Haverhill City Hall on Wednesday symbolizing the students and teachers who could die if public schools re-open.
Mindful of the coronavirus emergency, city officials are presenting a hybrid plan of two days per week in the school building and three days a week of remote learning at home. But the teachers union doesn't want teachers to have to go to school at all, according to The Eagle-Tribune of Lawrence.
