City Official Has Solution for Strip Club Prostitution: Make Prostitution Legal

A city councilor-elect in Providence, Rhode Island concerned about the closing of a strip club because police say three dancers offered undercover officers sex acts for money wants the state legislature to make prostitution legal.

Katherine Kerwin, who goes by Kat, whose ward-to-be includes the recently closed Foxy Lady, said the club's owners had to face consequences for the prostitution charges. But long term, she said, the state ought to change the way it views sex-for-money.

Co-Workers of Killed Employee Give Up Christmas Outing To Help Out Widow

Employees of a national airport construction company spending a week training on Cape Cod gave up their annual Christmas outing to perform landscaping and house repairs for the widow of a former colleague killed in an accident on the job 10 weeks ago.

Timothy P. Sullivan, 43, of Yarmouth, died October 11 in an accident in Florida, leaving behind a wife and two young children.
