Charlie Baker Trailing Geoff Diehl In Hypothetical Republican Primary, Poll Shows

Many Republicans in Massachusetts don't like Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, according to a Public Policy Polling survey shared with Politico on Wednesday morning.

It showed that 54 percent of likely 2022 Massachusetts Republican primary voters have an unfavorable opinion of the state's incumbent governor Charlie Baker; only 30 percent had a favorable opinion of him. Meanwhile, it showed that former state representative Geoff Diehl (R-Whitman) leads 50 percent to 29 percent in a hypothetical Republican primary between the two; 21 percent were undecided in the race, according to the survey.

Second Poll Shows Michelle Wu Up Big In Boston Mayoral Race

Yet another poll gives at-large city councilor Michelle Wu a commanding lead in the Boston mayoral race.

A Suffolk University poll released at the beginning of this week purports to show a potential blowout in the making. It shows that 62 percent of voters plan to vote for Wu while only 30 percent plan to vote for fellow at-large city councilor Annissa Essaibi George. Wu is the more progressive candidate in the race.
