Catholic Action League of Massachusetts Celebrates Defeat of Easthampton Anti-Crisis-Pregnancy-Centers Ordinance

The Catholic Action League of Massachusetts is celebrating the defeat of a proposed ordinance in Easthampton that sought to warn residents about pro-life crisis pregnancy centers and help people to file complaints with the state against them.
The Easthampton City Council approved the proposed ordinance July 5 on a vote of 6-1, with one abstention. But the mayor vetoed the measure the next day, saying she feared it would lead to a costly lawsuit. On Wednesday, August 2, the city council failed to override the veto. (The vote in favor was 5-3, on vote short of the two-thirds majority needed.)
