Carpetbagger Loses Democratic Primary for Congress in New Hampshire

Maura Sullivan, a former U.S. Marine who had lived in New Hampshire less than a year when she announced a campaign for Congress, lost handily to Executive Councilor Chris Pappas in the Democratic primary Tuesday despite seriously outspending him.

Sullivan got financial backing from several Washington advocacy organizations, including Emily's List, which seeks to elect pro-abortion women, on her way to doubling Pappas's campaign funds.

Harvard started quietly buying farmland in places like Brazil, South Africa, Russia, Ukraine, Australia, New Zealand, and California after the 2008 financial crisis, according to a report described by The Harvard Crimson.
