Cape Cod National Guard Base Gets Federal Approval To Build Machine Gun Range

A machine gun range at Joint Base Cape Cod is a step closer to happening. The base received approval from the federal government to clear 170 acres of forest so base officials can build a machine gun range.

The National Guard Bureau, the agency in charge of making the decision, told The Associated Press that there won't be much of an environmental impact if the military builds the range.

Want to collect unemployment benefits in Maine? You'll have to actively apply for jobs each week later this month, as The Bangor Daily News reports.

The Maine Department of Labor announced that it plans to bring back the state's ordinary work search requirement for those collecting unemployment, something state officials waived at the start of the coronavirus pandemic with many businesses shut down. After the first stage of the lockdown, however, they never re-implemented the policy.
