A distillery on Cape Cod is using a process it normally employs to create vodka to produce hand sanitizer.

Cape & Island Distillers, of Sandwich, is taking expiring beer that can't be sold to customers because bars are shut down and distilling it into 192-proof ethanol, according to CapeCod.com.

In Rhode Island, one factor has been involved with most of the state's coronavirus deaths: nursing homes.

There had been 55 confirmed coronavirus related deaths in the state as of Monday, April 13, according to WPRI-TV Channel 12 in Providence. Among those, 73 were related to nursing homes.
