Canadian Man Enters Rare Plea in 30-Year-Old Slaying of Same-Sex Couple

Anthony Barnaby, 51, will likely do another 4 1/2 years in prison after entering an unusual type of plea deal in the slaying of two women in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Barnaby, a Micmac Indian from Quebec, entered a so-called "Alford plea," which acknowledges the state has enough evidence to convict him of two counts of second-degree murder but still maintains his innocence, according to The Union Leader.

Massachusetts Republicans are pouncing on U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren's nonresponsive pivot when she was asked on CNN about an Iowa co-ed who police say was murdered by an illegal immigrant.

Warren said she is sorry for the family, but that immigration policy needs to concentrate "on where real problems are," and she spent the rest of her answer talking about mothers and children who were separated at the Mexico border several weeks ago by federal authorities.
