Brown Graduate Students Vote To Unionize

Graduate students at Brown University have voted to unionize, by a margin of 576 to 394, according to the Brown Daily Herald.

Candidates for doctorates and master's degrees who work for the university as teaching assistants, resident assistances, or proctors will now be able to engage in collective bargaining to negotiate wages, hours, and terms and conditions of employment.

Harvard Fired Employee for Showing Up Early

An employee of Harvard's University Health Services was fired for insubordination earlier this year – including "arriving at work 30 minutes before her shift began, despite having been told not to do so," according to The Harvard Crimson.

The newspaper cites a termination letter the woman received from the university.
