Boston treats elders to a New Year’s Eve party all their own

BOSTON – Snowflakes magically fell onto elders who filed into Boston's World Trade Center Wednesday and entered an exhibition hall packed with tables offering celebratory New Year's Eve hats and noisemakers. A barbershop quartet provided music for dancing and general conviviality.

"This is the hottest event in town!" said Emily Shea, Boston's commissioner for elder affairs. She said many of those who attended bolted for the best seats as they entered the hall.

BOSTON – If the cold weather isn't enough to keep you cool, Jerod Mayo's signature frozen treat from Shake Shack restaurants around the Hub could do the trick, and all the proceeds of Mayo's LineShacker sales will benefit the Boston Medical Center.

The New England Patriots star linebacker and co-captain got excited over the combination of two favorite Boston treats, Shake Shack's vanilla frozen custard and Flour Bakery's acclaimed pecan sticky buns to create an original for the hospital, which he has supported for years.
