Boston Students To Hold Walkout, ‘Die-In’ Over Guns, School Closings
Gun violence and the closing of two public schools are being combined into one protest by students in Boston's public schools, who are planning to walk out of school Monday afternoon and later hold a "die-in" at City Hall.
Organizers say they "will lay in silence outside of the Mayor's office and demand" a stop to school closures, more money for public education, public money to employ youths year-round, a violence prevention plan, and "Adequate trauma services for BPS young people as well as communities of color who are forced to witness shootings on their way to get their education."
