BOSTON – Mayor Marty Walsh unveiled the 2016 Boston Marathon street banners at Marathon Sports on Boylston Street Friday, taking the occasion to announce the second annual "One Boston Day" celebration of the city's resilience, generosity and strength.
The commemoration is designed to provide an opportunity to recognize good in the community and the strong spirit exemplified in the response to the April 15, 2013, bombing near the marathon finish line, which killed three and wounded more than 260 people.
BOSTON – The Hub's planning agency approved six projects Thursday that will create hundreds of residences, including 88 set aside as affordable.
Combined, the projects represent $241.5 million in investments that will generate over 500 construction jobs and create almost 600 residential units from Brighton to Roxbury, Jamaica Plain and South Boston, according to the Boston Redevelopment Authority.
