Boston City Councilor Asked To Retake Oath of Office

Boston City Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson appears to have remained silent during her oath of office on Monday, January 1. After a video circulated on X (formerly Twitter) of the inauguration, council president Ruthzee Louijeune and the city's law department are asking her to take it again.

After the video made the rounds, Fernandes Anderson posted a statement to the site, according to Boston.com, calling it a "non incident" and "anti-immigrant racist vitriol." She appears to have since deleted her account.
