Bernie Sanders Receives Significant Support In Rhode Island Presidential Primary

President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden are the only two major candidates left in the 2020 presidential election, but Rhode Island held its primary election on Tuesday anyways.

As WPRI-TV Channel 12 reports, the two presumptive nominees won the state overwhelmingly, but Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders still received strong support on the Democratic side. Sanders pulled in 30 percent of the vote, despite not being in the race. Biden got 62 percent and picked up six delegates as a result of the win.

Due to the coronavirus emergency, bottle and can redemption centers in Massachusetts were not required to accept bottles and cans starting on March 18. However, that is about to change.

Starting Friday, June 5, businesses with reverse vending machines for bottles and cans will be required to be operational, according to WCVB-TV Channel 5.
