U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) has a plan that would lift several hundred thousand people out of poverty, while cutting far more jobs altogether.
The senator wants to the United States to gradually increase its federal minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $17 an hour by 2029. The Congressional Budget Office found that this increase would reduce the number of people living in poverty by 400,000 people, but cut about 700,000 jobs nationwide, according to the Washington Examiner.
If only staunch Republicans vote in the 2024 New Hampshire GOP presidential primary, then former President Donald Trump will have no problem winning it, New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu said.
Sununu, who supports former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, thinks his preferred candidate will need a high-turnout race to stand any chance against the former president.
