U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) plans to introduce a bill in Congress that would raise the federal minimum wage to $17 an hour from $7.25.
With U.S. Representative Robert Scott (D-Virginia), he plans to introduce the Raise the Wage Act of 2023. It would gradually raise the federal minimum wage to $17 an hour by 2028.
A heat advisory is scheduled to go into effect on Thursday, July 27, with predicted temperatures of near 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
"Highs mid 80s to low 90s. Dangerous heat late this week into Saturday. Make sure to stay cool & hydrated!" the National Weather Service office in Norton tweeted on Wednesday, according to Patch.com.
