U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) reacted to the mass shooting that took place in Lewiston, Maine that left at 18 people dead by calling for more gun control.
"Another day in America, another horrific shooting," Sanders tweeted Thursday, October 26, a day after the shooting. "No one needs a military weapon designed to massacre people. We must ban assault weapons in the United States NOW."
Fifty-seven people protesting Israel were arrested on trespassing charges Wednesday during a sit-in outside the offices of the chancellor of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
The 56 student and one university employee refused to leave the third floor of the Whitmore Administration Building after the building closed at 6 p.m., according to The Daily Collegian, the student newspaper at the school.
