One Worcester Red Sox player's wife had a baby, followed by another player's proposal to his girlfriend, followed by another player getting promoted to the Major Leagues – all on Monday.

The WooSox, as the team is known, is the AAA minor league affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.

Colleges in western Massachusetts are changing their admissions questions to try to get information they want about applicants without overtly using race to made admissions decisions, as they did before the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that practice unconstitutional earlier this summer.

Smith College, according to the Daily Hampshire Gazette, has added a short-answer question asking applicants what "personal experiences, background, or abilities would you bring to this residential environment to share with your neighbors and what would you hope your neighbors share with you?"
