Average Property Tax Hit in Lowell for High School Project: $8,000

Lowell city officials and residents are trying to figure out whether to renovate Lowell High School or build a new one. Either way it would be the most expensive school project in the history of Massachusetts, at somewhere between $336 and $352 million, for a projected property tax hit of well more than $8,000 over 30 years for a home in Lowell valued at $254,000.

Framingham House Tied To Salem Witch Trials Nearing Restoration

A $1.5 million preservation project of the Sarah Clayes house on Salem End Road in Framingham is nearly complete. Clayes (also called Cloyce)  was arrested on witchcraft charges in Salem, but was eventually freed and fled to the wilderness that is now Framingham.
