Arrested School Board Member Once Played ‘Fight the Power’ During Committee Meeting
A member of a Connecticut School Board arrested during a raucous apartment complex board of directors meeting once blasted "Fight the Power" on her cell phone while protesting the agenda of a school board finance committee, according to the Connecticut Post.
Maria Pereira was arrested on charges of breaching the peace and interfering with a police officer after police were called to a contentious board of directors meeting at Success Village Apartments in Bridgeport. Pereira doesn't live there, but attended to support a board member who was later removed and replaced, according to the Connecticut Post. The incident did not concern school business.
