Arrested Man Stole Police Cruiser While Handcuffed in the Back Seat

A 22-year-old man sitting in the back seat of a cruiser with his hands handcuffed behind his back in Dexter, Maine managed to maneuver his hands to the front of his body, squirm through an 11-inch-by-11-inch window in the partition, get into the driver's seat and take off, police said.

He then ditched the cruiser and stole another car, at one point leading police on a 100-miles-an-hour chase, before crashing after driving over spiked mats police put out, according to the Bangor Daily News.
