Anne Brensley Supporters Organize Statewide Signature Drives This Weekend
Republican lieutenant governor candidate Anne Brensley’s supporters will hold signature drives across Massachusetts this weekend as the campaign pushes to gather 3,000 additional signatures.
Anne Brensley supporters will be collecting signatures across Massachusetts this weekend as the campaign pushes to gather 3,000 additional signatures by Monday.
Brensley, a Republican candidate for lieutenant governor who won about 56% of delegate support at the Massachusetts Republican convention, recently said her campaign fell short of the 10,000 certified signatures needed to qualify for the ballot after alleging problems with a paid signature collector.
“The grassroots movement is no longer the future of the Republican Party. It is the Republican Party,” Brensley said in a statement Friday.
Here are the locations where her supporters will be collecting signatures:
Saturday, May 16
• World’s Largest Pancake Breakfast — Downtown Springfield (Main Street area). The breakfast takes place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
• Plymouth Town Election polling locations — Plymouth. Town election hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Stow Town Election — Stow. Town election hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Wilbraham Town Election – Wilbraham. Town election hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Holyoke Soldiers’ Home Motorcycle Run — Veterans’ Home in Holyoke, 110 Cherry St., Holyoke. The event starts at 11 a.m.
Sunday, May 17
• All Corvettes Car Show — Chicopee Moose Family Center, 244 Fuller Rd., Chicopee. The car show will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Cars & Coffee Car Show — The Mill District, 91 Cowls Rd., North Amherst. The car show will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
“What we are witnessing right now is a political movement rising from the ground up,” Brensley said.
