The Massachusetts Republican Party has a new chairman.
State committeewoman and lobbyist Amy Carnevale of Marblehead defeated Jim Lyons in the chairman race on Tuesday night. Carnevale defeated Lyons 37-34; only state committee members were able to vote in the race. Lyons had served as the chairman of the party since 2019.

A proposal in the Massachusetts House of Representatives (HD.1269) filed by state Representative Alyson Sullivan-Almeida (R-Abington) would make the Bay State the fourth state in the country to make such dolls illegal.
