The lead singer of Aerosmith is backing Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz.
Steven Tyler, who owns a home in Marshfield, Massachusetts, endorsed Cruz for re-election this week. Cruz, a Marshfield resident who has served as the district attorney since 2003, is running against Rahsaan Hall, a Brockton Democrat who serves as the director of ACLU Massachusetts's racial justice program.
The largest teachers union – and largest labor union – in the country has contributed $7 million to Fair Share Massachusetts, the referendum committee campaigning for a ballot question that would increase state income taxes on incomes of $1 million or more.
The National Education Association has so far contributed $7 million in cash plus more than $225,000 in an in-kind contribution for focus groups and public opinion polling, according to the web site of the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance.
