The baseball analytics web site FanGraphs does not like the tean;s chances. The web site's 2021 Major League Baseball projections give the Red Sox a 33.2 percent chance of making the playoffs, meaning they think there is a more than two-in-three chance that they don't make it. Additionally, the site gives the Red Sox a 1.5 percent chance of winning the World Series. That's far lower than the 18.1 percent chance the site gives the New York Yankees.
