$560 Million Lottery Winner:  I Want To Stay Anonymous

An unidentified woman says she has the winning $560 million Powerball lottery ticket she bought in Merrimack, New Hampshire — but she is suing to try to collect the money without making her name public. One lawyer who has represented 17 lottery winners in New England said harassment from solicitors and people seeking money becomes so bothersome that one man slept with a gun by his bedside, while another kept a basket filled with $1 bills "that he would hand out and encourage them to take the same chance that he did," according to The Union Leader.

"Australia is a continent; not a country," an adjunct professor at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester wrote in justifying a failing grade for an online student in Idaho who submitted a project comparing social media use in the United States and Australia. The student then submitted "convincing" evidence that Australia is in fact a country, as well as a continent, according to The Union Leader; she ended up getting a B+ — but the adjunct professor now has more time to study geography.
