The federal government is set to spend $350 million toward replacing the two Cape Cod bridges that allow drivers to get across the Cape Cod Canal, through funding from the 2024 Energy and Water Development Appropriations bill.
Massachusetts U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren praised the plan in a press release.
Former U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-New Hampshire) is running for governor.
Ayotte, 55, announced she will pursue New Hampshire's governorship on Monday morning, July 24; the announcement comes after the incumbent Republican, Chris Sununu, announced last week that he will not seek re-election.
