September 11, 2001 will forever be remembered as one of the darkest days in American history.
It's a day that 2,996 people were killed by radical Islamic terrorists who hijacked planes and commit several attacks. That included hijacking American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 out of Logan Airport in Boston and crashing into the World Trade Center.
There won't be school on the Monday following June 19 in Massachusetts this school year.
Apparently, students and staff will get the day off — even if school is in session — since Juneteenth became a statewide holiday this past July. Now, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has updated its school calendars to reflect the day's new status, as MassLive.com reports.
